What Changed All Of A Sudden????
O.K... I have a level 11 or 12 (I will check and edit later) D/Mo and I just got past the mission were you have to kill this monster/boss in a temple that name fails me but I know it starts with an "a" and normally I get about average drops before. Then I do the quests that require you to go to Mehanti Keys. That was pretty easy (as I have M.O.X. with me) and before I go into detail let me give you my "stats" if you will:
I usually go out with a party of 8 (which is good I think) that consists of 2 healers, 2 D.D's, 2 Tanks, and one /Me or /P. Now I think I am Doing this right so far, but... Heres the questioning part... I started getting mostly blue/purple and even a few gold weapon/armor drops (which is way out of whack compared to my earlier experiences in the game), plus I get at least 1 type of Dye every hour I play. Now I was wondering if this is NORMAL for a character like mine at this level... I did some research on drops and things and it looks like no one has nailed down the exact drop formula/rate/what determines what you get... Now I know it is normal for good drops to increase in rate since the game is getting harder (it's like that in other MMO's). I mean One of the first thing I did was save enough money to buy some Belt Pouches and Sacks, but I didn't need them until I got to this point in the game, because every time I go out, I have to go find the merchant to get rid of some of the crap...... But yeah, thats my question, no real hurry to answer or anything as I am just, well, Pleased that I am receiving such good drops/rates. Thanks In Advance Last edited by ccfrecc; Jan 14, 2010 at 02:32 AM // 02:32.. Reason: Get Rid Of Signature |

don't worry, as time wears on, you'll probably end up making a post south of what you just made.

It's been my experience over the years that drops are streaky. Like you, I can have my days, or even a week or two, where drops are fantastic. Of course, there's that flipside, when everything is horrid for a period of time.
Sounds to me like you're in one of those good streaks. Pass the luck will ya? |

On-topic: Loot is very random. There's never a guarantee you will get anything at all. You either get nothing, get something, or get a lot. It's just... Chance? Last edited by jonnieboi05; Jan 13, 2010 at 12:16 AM // 00:16.. |

Until confirmation from Inde I will have to continue calling him a "he". I am one of those people who stay on the safe side and consider everyone on the internet male until proven otherwise (it saves me SO many headaches ). |

drops....I get a dye drop just about every day (sometimes a few each day) on one of my accounts, my other account-0 not a single one, my hubby gets maybe a dye a week....makes no sense to me (except that I think the game wants me to become a dye seller???) I started a new account and made a new mesmer--her 3rd drop after I just made her was a black dye.....makes very little sense at all. (she still gets some dye drops but not as much as some of the others I play).
I think some of my characters just have bad juju or something which is why they always get horrible drops (and I never use them on the zaishen chest), though there is no proof one way or the other.

I sort of agree with that although I think its more around 80%... But yeah, and I'm not quite at the point of solo farming, but I hope to be in a couple of weeks...

Quote everyone in the same single post instead of making 4 separate posts one after the other. Mods don't like you doing that either and it's in the forum rules too and you could get a "Time out". Sorry this is off topic to the thread. |

PS: You won't get banned for not doing this, but it is annoying for people reading several consecutive posts by the same person. Also, we (the mods) wouldn't instantly ban you upon seeing you manually putting a sig at the end of each post. We would PM you and ask you to stop. We are not unreasonable people that enjoy permabanning users for fun (JonnieBoy05 wasn't banned for the sig; he was banned for continually disregarding forum rules).
